Well tonight I'm going to write about doctors. Ececehh macam bagus plak rasanya ayat tuh. Hahah.. Re-write.. Okay, tonight I'm going to talk about our visits to the clinic. Actually earlier today, hubby and I brought Raisha to Dr Altaf's Clinic in TTDI. Raisha has been having diarrhea for almost 5 days, and we're getting worried now. At first it was okay-okay, but when she woke up in the middle of the night just to poop (all sweating and meneran.. risau babe), that got me thinking that it's not ok. We gave her probiotics for the tummy (about two days), but it seems like it didn't help that much. Well, looking at the frequency of the diarrhea (around 4-5 times a day), I want fast results! So we brought her to the best!
Dr Altaf is definitely my first choice when it comes to pediatrician. He is very good with babies and kids. I was recommended to him by my sister in law, Kak Intan whom a true loyal believer of him. Lisa, 10 and Zara, 6 has been going to Dr Altaf since they were babies. Okay, back to Dr Altaf. He's soft spoken, he explains everything (if you're like me.. yes, I want to know EVERYTHING about my baby! hahahah) and most importantly, he listens! There was this one time when I was a little bit concern with Raisha being a little "fragile" for her age. Dr Altaf immediately examined her joints and muscles. And he said that there's nothing to worry about, cause Raisha is a little chubby, so it might take a while for her mucles to get strong and "fit". (Hahaha boleh macam tue..?) He added if by 1 year she is still "fragile", then I should consult with him again.
And for our visit today, he mentioned that it's normal for babies to have diarrhea, especially when they started eating solids and also biting. Babies at her age love to bite anything and everything that they can grab. So all the germs/bacteria might go into the tummy and cause the diarrhea. Usually, diarrhea lasts about 2-3 days. And for Raisha's case, it has come to his apprehension since it's a prolong diarrhea. He prescribed probiotics, and some smecta sachets. And we were also given a container, he wants us to give stool sample, so that we'll be sure what actually cause it. It could be viral or bacteria infection. Well I hope that everything is going to be fine by tomorrow. Alhamdulillah, Raisha is still active and drinks a lot (so Insyaallah, no dehydration issue). Having said that, she is pooping while I'm writing this, so here comes my worry again. (Poor my baby...sob sob)
Well lovelies, I highly recommend Dr Altaf as your baby's pediatrician if you want someone who is very experienced and intuitive. Well, of course he's the type that follow SOPs, like other doctors too. But I would with his experience and his care for babies, I really can trust his instincts.
